Head chef Rob has worked at The Red Lion for just over 2 years. He came as a Sous Chef and then just after a year he was promoted to Head Chef which was a very well deserved post. He leads the kitchen team and enjoys watching the teams flare with special dishes. Rob's favourite food is rump steak washed down with a large bourbon!
Reece joined us in January as second in charge to Rob. He has settled in well and is making a lot of changes to the specials board incorporating fish dishes as well as some classics. Previously Reece has worked in Lichfield at The Barn where he was the sous chef, The Boat just outside Lichfield as a chef-de-partie and Rick Stine fish restaurant in Winchester as a chef-de-partie. His passion in the kitchen is the specials board, a couple of popular dishes being black pudding and pancetta potato cake and Tandoori cod.
When Reece isn’t working a lot of his time is taken up with his dog breeding business. At the moment he has French bull dogs only a few weeks old. He also breeds English bull terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers and dachshund. When there is a spare moment he also like to race cars with a passion for anything that goes very fast!
John or JJ as he likes to be known as joined The Red Lion kitchen team as an apprentice chef. Starting in September he has progressed very well and become a popular member of the kitchen team. He goes to Burton Collage on a Wednesday where he learns the basics of being in a kitchen as well as learning essential cooking skills. He has found a passion for the dessert section especially making homemade brownie!
When JJ isn’t at work or college he enjoys socialising with friends and spending time on his computer.
